Cosplayin' in the philippines

The first time i went to a cosplay convention was in 2009 at SMX Convention Center. I was a new con-goer so all i knew is to take picture of the awesome cosplayers and waste my money buying at the booths that sells alot of good stuff.

So that was 2009 to you, How is the present? We'll since I did stop cosplaying in 2011 and came back in 2012. I wasn't able to see a better look at the transition of change in the community. Though, the changes are rather obvious. Cosplaying, with the media's help became rather popular to the Philippines. It was so popular that the community grew into a very large scale. I myself didn't know how to react at first, It made me feel abit happy and more worried.

I appreciate the fact that more people are interested to join and become a part of this ever loving community. Though, i simply can't ignore the fact that there are people in the community who ought to join in order to gain fame or they will earn money from this hobby. Then there are people who forget their responsibility in cosplaying. I know Cosplaying is for everyone but you can't cosplay just any character. Then, there are alot of people who well aren't aware that Lolita Fashion is not cosplaying.. It's fashion.. So is visual kei. It's FASHION GUYS.. NOT COSPLAYING. lol It's just some new people in the community doesn't even know the difference.

Even though there are some flaws in the community, It's still filled with passionate, loving and awesome people. It's kinda fun too because people in the Philippines aren't too judgmental about people cosplaying. Unlike in other countries, most people who cosplay are really judged badly. I guess people in our country should be happy because we have alot of cosplay related events, which is really rare in some countries. I guess we are blessed to be into a democratic country, that's why people don't bash on us for being Anime fans/Cosplayers and such.

Ending this entry, I guess what i meant to say is that cosplay in the Philippines isn't as bad as most of us say. There might be alot of arrogant newbies but some of them do have the heart to listen and learn from the pros. I'm a new cosplayer and i'd really love to get some pro tips. Sadly, there are no pro cosplayer who has told me a tip in cosplaying... I only read online.. That's how i get tips. I secretly wish that an awesome pro cosplayer would critic my cosplay or anyone in the community other than my friends (Because, I can't take them seriously) or someone whom i admire in the community to critic my cosplay portfolio. I'm willing to change, I guess there are just some who doesn't like being critic at (Maybe because of the ego [?] ). Nevertheless, I still believe that we have a wonderful community with great cosplayers in our country. What can I say? I'm proud of my hometown!

First of all, I'd like to introduce myself! My screen name is Chiya. Please excuse me for not including my real name because i'd like to put on privacy with my private life and some other matters.

So, now we are done with introducing myself it's time to discuss this "blog" and why it has a rather bold or bothering title. First of all, It is not a mistake that I placed "FAKKU" there. Yes, Fakku~ If you are not knowledgeable about it.. It is a site with full of "Hentai" manga/videos/games that also comes with a very funny comment thread. Well? I don't just wear the shirt of such site but i also read from that site.

The infamous U-Mad Fakku logo

Now coming from you guys, I'm sure that you'd have a violent reaction like... "You're a girl! You shoudn't be reading from that site!", "But you look like an innocent girl!? why?!!" Well, This is the 21st century so stop treating women like they can't do things that only man can do. I'm not such a fan of hentai but I am a fan of NaPaTa-sensei and Homonculus-sensei's works. I'm also a fan of BL or Yaoi.

Now that settles the title, Now for the blog!
Well, Now that you know i read from Fakku, it doesn't mean that i'll be posting DL links to the newest hentai series or whatever. This Blog is all about me, my vanity..//slapped.
With all seriousness, This blog mainly focuses about Me, Cosplay, Food, Destinations in the philippines, Relationship/Life Advices and Tons of random things that i want to share.

Chiya in Boracay!

I really feel guilty posting long posts at facebook knowing that it isn't a site for blogging and how i always love to share stuff. So I figured to make a blog account to share my stuff here and post the links online. It looks awkward to post diary like posts in facebook... So, I figured that i should be posting here!

We'll that's about my first post! Thanks everyone! I hope you look forward to my following posts.
